What made us create this program?

  • Nearly 40% of CEOs recognise that their company will not be economically viable in 10 years’ time if it continues on its current course, a pattern which is consistent across all sectors. – PwC’s ‘Annual CEO Survey 2023′.
  • Only 23% of organisations believe leaders in their business are well equipped to lead effectively in a disrupted world. – Deloitte’s ‘Human Capital Trends 2023‘.
  • Deloitte’s study also found a new type of leader is required to succeed in a disrupted and boundaryless world, involving distributed leadership, co-creating value, adopting a growth mindset, and incorporating societal outcomes.
  • Analysis of 1.4 million employee reviews on Glassdoor indicates that strong leadership and employees feeling respected are crucial elements in shaping positive perceptions of corporate culture. – MIT’s Sloan Management Review.
  • 44% of Gen Z and 43% of Millennials say they have recently left a workplace because of burnout. – Deloitte’s ‘Global Gen Z and Millennials Survey 2022’.
  • Toxic culture drives poor mental and physical health, disengagement, bad mouthing, and attrition; toxic corporate culture is ten times more likely to predict attrition than the average predictive factor. MIT’s Sloan Management Review.

We recognised the growing importance of developing a strong and effective senior leadership culture, the impact of respect and well-being on culture, and the negative consequences of a toxic leadership culture. We saw Heads of People and Culture, HR Directors, Heads of Learning and Development, CEOs, COOs, and other senior leaders struggling to embed positive leadership cultures in their organisations.

So we designed this transformative training intervention to embed a purpose-driven culture that fosters strategic collaboration and collective intelligence across your leadership team, and empowers leaders to become compelling role models and create a culture that inspires innovation and motivates productivity in their teams.

Case Study on Building Strategic Leadership

Their situation

A large national retailer was looking to consolidate their post-pandemic position after going through a turbulent period and closing parts of their business down. Some very experienced leaders had now left, leaving an inexperienced senior leadership team.

The company was seeking growth from a smaller team, and expected it to be easier to rally support for their renewed drive. Instead of being able to create change, they experienced push-back and a distinct lack of trust in the remaining leadership team.

The new HR Director was also less experienced, having taken the vacant position by stepping up from their HR Assistant role, but they recognised the signs of a disconnect between leaders and the wider organisation, and a skills gap in the leadership team.

Our solution

We build a program to provide leaders with the necessary tools, support, and guidance to learn key leadership skills, including how to be a leader that people want to follow, understanding the tools of transformational leadership, recognising leadership styles, and exploring leadership beyond management, bridging the gaps the HR Director saw.

The result

After this program, the senior leadership team had a renewed belief in their own abilities, and used their new knowledge to close the divide between the leaders and their teams, creating followers that rallied around the new strategy, with renewed trust in leadership.

The program gave their team a shared framework to solve complex problems, with a shared set of tools and vocabulary, and brought the leadership team closer, with a more cohesive approach to leading with unity, improving morale, retention, and sales results.
